Festive Season Break & Rugby Training (Dec 27th)

Dear gentlemen of rugby,

It has been a productive couple of months of training. It is now time to take a short break for Hari Raya Haji & Christmas.

Our next training sessions will be on the 27th at 9am. Training will be held in school. Bring both your boots and running shoes.

Have a restful break over this holiday period. As most of you guys are still growing, load up on the carbs and protein. You can shed the fat when training resumes.

Selamat Hari Raya Haji and Merry Christmas from the teachers-in-charge

Cleaning Up At The Ruck - An Alternative to Cleaning Up A Bigger Adversary

Hello Gentlemen of Rugby,

This morning training session we looked and practiced at how we can clean up a bigger opposing player at the ruck. Check out this video clip from England. Notice how the player coming in lifts and cleans up his opposing number! Remember grab and twist your opposite number!

Montfort Under-13 Win Manulife International Youth 10s Plate Championship

Well Done To The Under-13s squad for pulling through and winning the Manulife International Youth 10s Plate Championship on Saturday afternoon at the Singapore Polo Club.

In a hard-fought final against the Centaurus Under-13s, our players beat Centaurus by three tries to one.

The Under-13s had started the tournament slowly but had recovered by the time of the Plate Final. Many hard tackles were meted out to the Centaurus Under-13s. This win shows that with proper motivation and determination we can compete against the bigger boys.

The win shows that physical size does not matter in rugby, but what counts is the size of the heart and collective strength of the Montfort team.

A special mention to the Monfort Under-16 team who made it to the Plate Final but lost to Blacks Under-16 team. But take heart Monfortian Under-16 players, it was a close match.
