Montfort B Div Rugby Lions Are M1 Tens Plate Champs

The Montfort B Div Rugby Lions emerged as Plate Champions in the Under-17 M1 Schools Rugby Series Tens Tournament on 3rd June at Yio Chu Kang Stadium.

In the group stages, the B Div ruggers notched up a 14-0 victory over Junyuan Sec before succumbing to 20-0 defeat against Saints.

As a result, the B Div Lions progressed to the Plate Semi-Finals against SJI. Our winger Ahmad Danial scored a try which was duly converted to give Montfort a 7-0 victory over SJI.

In the Plate Final, the B Div played a hard-fought match and managed to get away with a 5-0 win over Damai Secondary. The winning try was scored by captain Lyon Ee Boon Tong.

The B Div Rugby Lions who won the Plate for Montfort Rugby: Harish Pandey, Calvin Lim, Jonathan Lim, Ahmad Danial, Muhd Nabil, Gerald Lim, Stanley Lim, P Aravind, Lyon Ee, Justin Seow and Nat Takahashi.

Montfort Rugby Lions C Div Emerge As Cup Runners-Up

Montfort Rugby Lions C Division Team emerged runners-up in the M1 Schools Tens Cup Competition on Thursday 4th June at Yio Chu Kang Stadium.

Montfort made it to the Cup Final after demolishing Regent Sec, Evergreen Sec, Pioneer Sec and Admiralty Sec to secure a place in the Cup Final against ACS Barker Road.

In a hard-fought Final which went to sudden-death extra time, Montfort was beaten by one try in extra time by ACS Barker Road after both teams held each other to 5-5 at full-time. Final Score MSS 5 ACSBR 10.

Despite the loss, this has been one of the best performances by a Montfort Rugby Team.
